Of Mice And Men, what I think it will be about

From all the presentations I have seen, I think I have a good idea of what the book will be about. I believe that it is about migrant farmers who lost their farm due to the dust bowl and are now traveling throughout the country. The cities Salinas and Soledad are places that they travel to. Most likely they are searching for jobs but have no luck. The only thing these farmers can do is migrate from town to town. The setting is California. Being farmers is extremely hard work. The land is dusty and hard to use for agriculture so the farmers are probably struggling to work. There is probably many subplots. Perhaps there is a romantic interest or other motivation for the primary character.
